As an alternative to your password, once you have successfully logged into QNB Mobile Banking and registered your device, you can enable the fingerprint biometric (Touch ID) authentication for future logins.



Fingerprint Authentication is available for customers registered for QNB Mobile Banking with an:
  • iPhone with Touch ID fingerprint support (iPhone 5S and newer models)
  • iPad with Touch ID fingerprint support (iPad Air 2/iPad Mini 3 and newer models)
Note:  To use fingerprint authentication, your smartphone or tablet need be registered in QNB Mobile Banking with your username and password - click here to register your device.

How to enable or disable the Fingerprint Biometric Authentication?

To enable fingerprint authentication for QNB MB on your device, just follow these steps:
  • Once you have logged in and registered your smartphone or tablet, the App will offer to enable your fingerprint biometric authentication, provided your iPhone or iPad supports fingerprint authentication (Touch ID) and you have previously enabled and setup the fingerprint authentication on your device. In case you Skip the process, later on you can enable the fingerprint authentication on under ‘More/Settings/Fingerprint Authentication’ menu.
  • Confirm the fingerprint enablement, read and Accept the QNB Mobile Banking App Terms and Conditions and allow it to access your fingerprint stored on your device (Touch ID) to use as an alternative for your password.
  • Once you set up the fingerprint authentication from the next login you can use your fingerprint authentication as an alternative of your password. Make sure the fingerprint authentication (Touch ID) is enabled on your iPhone or iPad (under ‘Settings/Touch ID & Passcode’ menu.
To disable fingerprint authentication for QNB MB on your device, just follow these steps:
  • Login to QNB MB, select More/Settings/Fingerprint Authentication, then disable it.
  • Disable the Touch ID authentication on your iPhone or iPad itself under Settings/Touch ID & Passcode menu.

Is it possible to login to QNB Mobile Banking without fingerprint biometric authentication?

Fingerprint (Touch ID) authentication is an optional convenient service, in case fingerprint authentication is disabled or fails it’s still possible to login with a password.


Which smartphones and tablets support fingerprint biometric authentication with QNB Mobile Banking?

Currently iPhones and iPads with Touch ID are supported (iPhone 5S, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 and newer models).


Do I need to register my device to enable biometric fingerprint authentication?

Before enabling biometric fingerprint authentication, you need to register your device for the QNB Mobile Banking app under (‘Settings/My Devices/Register’) menu.


Can I use all the fingerprints stored on my device Touch ID settings?

Enabling fingerprint (Touch ID) authentication for QNB Mobile Banking login means that you can use all fingerprints stored on your device Touch ID settings as an alternative for your password. You are responsible to ensure there are no other persons’ fingerprints stored on your device other than your own. If any other person's fingerprint is stored on your device and is allowed to access to your banking information, then you are responsible for any of the transactions and activity carried out by this person. Enabling Touch ID means that you agree and accept iPhone/iPad Touch ID as your mode of authentication as an alternative for a password provided by Apple Inc. as per their Terms and Conditions.


Is an SMS PIN required for payments even when fingerprint authentication is enabled?

To further secure your daily banking certain transactions and activity may require a one-time SMS PIN as an additional security measure sent to your registered mobile number.


What happens if my Touch ID function is broken on my device?

QNB is not liable or responsible for any malfunction in Touch ID. Any changes to Touch ID technology (Apple Inc.) or features may or may not impact the way you use the application.


If I unregister my device through QNB Mobile Banking or Internet Banking, or through the Customer Care Center, will it deactivate the fingerprint biometric authentication?

In case you unregister your device for a particular user it will automatically deactivate the fingerprint biometric authentication attached to it.
